Dear Spanish/French I Scholars and Families:
Thank you for your interest in Dual Enrollment. Please review the updated Admissions Steps for the Spring Semester 2021, provided by EMCC. Thus far, Spanish/French I scholars only need to Apply for Admissions (create their MEID, Student ID and password) and take the Edready Critical English Reading Exam.  Please keep the ID and Password information in a safe, but accessible location, as scholars may need to present this information numerous times. Note that the English Reading exam is mandatory for any Spanish/French I scholar requesting to proceed with Dual Enrollment, and it must be done prior to registration (see details in the link above).
The actual course registration for SPA101 and FRE101, offered to scholars currently taking Spanish 1/French 1 at Trivium, will not take place until January 2021.
If you have any questions regarding the Application for Admissions process, detailed in the link above or the actual Course Registration, feel free to contact Mrs. Ortiz and Mr. Shepard, our Dual Enrollment Representatives from Estrella Mountain Community College.

If you have questions, please contact:

Dual Enrollment Department at EMCC dualenrollment@estrellamountain.edu, 623-935-8900

What is Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for eligible high school scholars to earn lower-division college credit during their regular high school Spanish/French 1-4 courses. The credits are treated the same as regular college credits, and are transferable to a myriad of colleges and any AZ state university. What are the benefits of Dual Enrollment?
As long as the scholar receives a C- or higher in the current modern language course, completes the required documentation (to be shared soon), and pays the required fee, he/she will receive 4 college credits for completing a Spanish/French course. Our current modern language immersion courses instructed at Trivium Prep. will not be modified, and the program will take place during our regular academic day. Here is a link for additional information: www.estrellamountain.edu/students/dual-enrollment. Thank you for your interest regarding Dual Enrollment.

Verifying Credit from Previous Year

If your scholar was officially enrolled in Dual Enrollment for Spanish or French for the past two years and received a grade average of a C or higher, he/she should have received 4 college credits for each course. It is recommended that, upon receiving the final grade from Great Hearts for the registered course, you and your child log in to the assigned Maricopa Community College account in order to ensure that the correct grade and credits have been assigned. If you have any difficulty logging in or seeing the grade, feel free to contact Mrs. Ortiz or Mr. Shepard, both EMCC Dual Enrollment representatives, as they would be able to help you navigate their website.
